From September 1 through 3, 2004, the armed multinational group, mostly the Chechen separatists, had occupied the biggest secondary school in the city of Beslan in the Republic of North Ossetia-Alania, Russian republic. And, as many as 1,200 people were held as hostages and locked in the school gymnasium. Among hostages, there were students aged 7 to 18-year old, their families and teachers who had gathered there for the new school year. They had rejected food and water during the 52-hour confinement. I imagined what if such tragedy happened at my old school and packed into the gymnasium. In my school, there were children with variety of characteristics, strong, smart, amusing, pretty, shy…etc. Such cruel events never stop occurring in the history.
